How long do I have to file a personal injury claim in California?
California's statute of limitations for most personal injury claims is two years from the date of the injury. For claims against a government entity, the deadline can be as short as six months. Missing these deadlines typically bars your claim entirely, so it is critical to speak with an attorney as soon as possible.

What types of compensation can I recover?

What if I was partially at fault for my accident?
California follows a 'pure comparative negligence' rule, which means you can still recover compensation even if you were partially at fault. Should I talk to the other driver's insurance company?
We strongly recommend you do not give a recorded statement or sign anything from the other side's insurance company until you speak with an attorney. Insurance adjusters are trained to minimize what they pay out, and even a casual statement can be used to reduce your claim.
Do I have to go to court?
Most personal injury cases are resolved through negotiation or mediation without ever going to trial.
